Theatrical Roots: After completing his education and military service, Brian found himself immersed in the world of live theatre with PACOFS (Performing Arts Council of the Orange Free State), where he honed his craft for many years. Taking to the Skies: In 1984, Brian's journey in aviation kicked off with his inaugural airshow in Welkom. Since then, he's become a staple in the aviation community, hosting countless airshows and aviation events across South Africa. Global Recognition: Brian's talents have taken him far beyond South African borders. From broadcasting at prestigious events like the Royal International Air Tattoo to collaborating with renowned aerobatic teams like the Red Arrows, his expertise has been sought after worldwide. Awards and Accolades: Over the years, Brian has been honored with numerous awards, including the prestigious Paul Tissandier Diploma from the Federation of Aeronautics in Switzerland and the Order of South African Airforce Association (Bronze). His commitment to aviation and humanitarian causes has earned him recognition from organizations like the Civil Aviation Authority and Rotary International. Continued Commitment: Brian's dedication to aviation extends beyond the airshow circuit. He serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the SAPS Airwing Reserve and actively contributes to organizations like the Civil Aviation Authority and Airshow South Africa. Television Presence: Brian's charismatic presence has graced the screens with aviation-related television programs, including Discovery Wings, further solidifying his status as a respected figure in the industry. By day, Andrew commands as Senior Check Captain at SAA on the Boeing 737 Freighter, but his true essence is found amidst the thrill of aerobatics. Sponsored by NASHUA, he dances through the air in his Extra 300 LP, captivating audiences with high-energy maneuvers in the Advanced Aerobatic Category. Andrew's roots trace back to 7 years of service in the SAAF, where he honed his skills amidst iconic aircraft like the Harvard and Cessna Caravan. Today, alongside his roles with the Flying Lions and the Harvard Club of SA, he continues to push boundaries in both solo performances and formation flying. Beyond the cockpit, Andrew finds solace in pursuits like trail running, golf, and tennis, but his heart truly soars when inverted in the sky. With over 1359.5 hours in fixed-wing aircraft and 879.8 hours in helicopters, Menno's expertise spans across 20 different aircraft, a testament to his unwavering commitment to mastering the art of flight. Despite starting his flying career at the age of 33, Menno's ascent in the aviation world has been meteoric. His love for warbirds and helicopters has taken him to new heights, soaring above the clouds in iconic machines like the North American P-51 Mustang and the Bell 407 Helicopter. But for Menno, the true joy of flying lies not just in the cockpit, but in sharing his passion with others. Whether it's thrilling airshow displays or inspiring the next generation of aviators, Menno's enthusiasm knows no bounds. Born on March 31st, 1966, Oscar's journey into the heavens began at the tender age of 14, marking the inception of a lifelong love affair with aviation. By day, Oscar leads as the Managing Director at Oranje Mynbou en Vervoer, but it's in the vast expanse of the skies where he truly thrives. With an impressive total of 5,000 hours in gliding and 3,500 hours in powered flight, Oscar's mastery extends across a spectrum of aircraft, including single and multi-engine crafts under 5,700 kg. Oscar's illustrious flying career is punctuated by his crowning achievement as the World Gliding Champion in the Open Class of 2001, a testament to his unparalleled skill and dedication to the craft. While his accomplishments are many, Oscar's heart belongs to the ethereal world of gliding. As the embodiment of tranquility and precision, he takes to the skies in his Jonker Sailplanes JS1, showcasing the sublime beauty of glider aerobatics with each graceful maneuver.
